Outstanding service is a core value of Meyers Learning Center. Our tutors and coaches provide excellent teaching in core academic subjects, as well as Executive Functioning skills. We offer tutoring and coaching in students' homes, schools, at our center, and online. In addition, we provide dynamic workshops, presentations, and training for schools, parents, and professional organizations.
Whether your student needs general "homework help" or support in specific classes, we're here to reduce stress and increase success in the learning process. Our tutors are passionate subject-matter experts in a vast array of subjects: from math to English, science to history, and a variety of international languages. For almost any academic subject, Meyers Learning Center offers tutors with deep knowledge and multiple ways of teaching concepts to facilitate our favorite kind of moments: the "AHA!" ones.
Our teaching extends beyond the typical purview of academic tutoring, focusing not only on the "what" of learning, but the "how." Students who understand the process of learning and the tools needed to maximize their knowledge and skills will exceed expectations and maximize their success. We teach practical tools focused on core competencies of Executive Functioning, including: Organization, Time Management, Learning, and Self-advocacy skills in a real-world, direct application format. With a coaching model, our staff provides supportive feedback, problem-solving tools, and goal-oriented strategies to help students build new habits for optimizing learning and independence.
We provide high quality one-to-one support for children needing to catch-up (it's a great time for intensive remediation of skills), make-up (for students struggling to finish a course during the academic year or finding themselves with an "Incomplete"), preview (to build knowledge and confidence for a course they're taking in the fall), review (for retention and greater mastery), or expand knowledge (great for students seeking enrichment in any academic area).
Meyers Learning Center supports students in college essay writing, as well as the Executive Functioning aspects of their college admissions process. This may include the creation of a timeline for college applications, acquiring and submitting required documents (such as transcripts, recommendations, and detailed information requested by universities), organization and time management throughout the process, and general support and accountablity for follow-through on tasks..
We offer support for Independent Study classes for school credit, using the nationally recognized curriculum developed by Brigham Young University (BYU) or other accredited curricula. Students enroll in Independent Study classes for advancement, remediation, or enrichment. MLC tutors support these students with the Executive Functioning components (planning, goal-oriented execution of tasks, accontability) and their academic content needs. We also provide student workshops, parent presentations, and teacher in-service trainings. In addition, we offer specialized educational support to students in need, for specific learning differences.
