  1. Step 1:

    The fastest way to facilitate tutoring is to fill out and submit the Get Started form.

  2. Step 2:

    Respond to your submission via email within 24 hours by email.  We will call you within 48 hours of hearing from you to learn more about your needs in order to make the best tutor match possible.  Based on our initial phone conversation with you, we will select the tutor who is best suited to work with your child.

  3. Step 3:

    Schedule an Initial Consultation.  This meeting involves the tutor, an MLC manager, at least one parent, and the student – all together.  The Initial Consultation typically happens in your home.  The purpose of the meeting is to discuss goals and expectations, as well as for you and your child to meet the tutor and ask any unanswered questions you have.  It's also an important step in establishing a strong rapport between the student and tutor.  The fee for this meeting is $85, and it can last anywhere from 45-60 minutes.

    We recommend that the parent and student speak after the meeting, to ensure the student's buy-in and willingness to participate.  The student who resists tutoring will make the tutoring ineffective, but the student who is open and willing to try stands to benefit enormously.  If everyone agrees that it's a good fit and your child is ready to commit, you can notify us to set up the schedule.

  4. Step 4:

    Tutoring begins.  The tutor will communicate with you regularly via emailed session notes after each meeting, with progress comments noted.  If you would like, you may ask the tutor to stop the session five minutes early to debrief with you in-person.  Let the tutor know if you would like this option.

  5. Step 5:

    Meyers Learning Center will send you monthly invoices; no payments are made during tutoring sessions.  Each month's invoice arrives the month after services are provided (i.e., you can expect to receive an invoice for October tutoring sessions in the second week in November), and payment is due within two weeks of the invoice's printed date.

Meyers Learning Center will contact you periodically for your feedback.  In the meantime, we encourage you to contact us anytime you have questions or thoughts to share.  We want to make sure that every student maximizes the benefit of working one-on-one with our excellent teachers.
